The WTA Finals Are Coming to Indian Wells

The WTA Finals Are Coming to Indian Wells: Make It a Tennis Getaway

November 8–15, 2026 | Indian Wells Tennis Garden

If you love tennis, there may not be a better excuse for a desert getaway this fall.

For the first time, the WTA Finals are coming to Indian Wells, bringing the very best women’s tennis players in the world to the Coachella Valley for the season-ending championship.

And if you're planning to make a trip of it, we think there’s a pretty perfect way to do it:

Watch the pros compete at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Then come back to Palm Desert and play a few sets yourself.

Because why just watch great tennis when you can play, too?

This Isn't Just Another Tennis Tournament

The WTA Finals are the season-ending championship of women’s professional tennis—the event where the elite players who have had the strongest seasons come together for one final shot at a championship.

Only eight singles players and eight doubles teams qualify. The competition begins with round-robin play before the field is narrowed down to the semifinals and championship matches.

And this year's field is already shaping up to be incredible.

So, who will you see?

As of September 15, the singles race had some very familiar names near the top:

  • Elena Rybakina — already officially qualified and the defending WTA Finals champion

  • Aryna Sabalenka

  • Jessica Pegula

  • Coco Gauff

  • Mirra Andreeva

  • Elina Svitolina

  • Karolina Muchova

  • Linda Noskova

Those final seven positions aren't locked yet, so the field will continue to take shape as the remaining tournaments of the season are played.

Rybakina is particularly exciting to watch. She comes to Indian Wells as the reigning WTA Finals champion and newly crowned 2026 US Open champion, and she is looking to become the first player since Serena Williams to successfully defend a WTA Finals title.

And the doubles competition is already taking shape, too.

Three teams have officially qualified:

Taylor Townsend & Katerina Siniakova

Gabriela Dabrowski & Luisa Stefani

Aleksandra Krunic & Anna Danilina

More players and teams will earn their spots as the season winds down.

So if you've been looking for a reason to visit the Coachella Valley in November...

This is it.

And Then There's Your Home Base in Palm Desert

Here's where we think the trip gets even better.

Instead of staying in a hotel room and spending your entire vacation surrounded by other tournament spectators, imagine having your own 3-bedroom Palm Desert condo to come home to.

You can spend the day watching world-class tennis...

Then head back, change into something comfortable, grab a drink, relax on the balcony and talk about the matches you just watched.

Or better yet?

Grab your racquet.

Watch the Pros. Then Work on Your Own Game.

One of the things we love about a tennis trip is that you don't have to stop playing just because the pros are in town.

Our Desert Falls community has eight tennis courts, giving you the chance to get out there and play during your stay.

Maybe you want a morning hit before heading to Indian Wells.

Maybe you want to work on your serve after watching Rybakina.

Maybe you've been inspired by an incredible doubles match and suddenly your group is keeping score over dinner.

Or maybe you simply want to spend a sunny afternoon playing tennis with the people you came to the desert with.

That's the fun of making this more than just a tournament trip.

You're not simply watching tennis.

You're having a tennis vacation.

And You're Staying in Palm Desert

Our 3-bedroom condo gives you room to actually spread out and enjoy the trip.

No tiny hotel room.

No deciding who gets the pull-out couch.

No having to go out every time you're hungry.

Instead, you've got a comfortable place to relax between tennis sessions, with space for your group to spend time together.

And when you're ready to take a break from tennis, there's plenty more to do around Palm Desert and the Coachella Valley.

Spend an afternoon wandering El Paseo.

Grab dinner somewhere you've been wanting to try.

Take a hike.

Relax by the pool.

Play pickleball.

Enjoy the sunshine.

Or simply do absolutely nothing for a few hours—which, honestly, might be exactly what you need after a full day at the tournament.

A Tennis Trip That Feels Like a Vacation

The location is another big part of the appeal.

The WTA Finals will be played at Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the same world-class tennis destination that hosts the BNP Paribas Open each spring.

Indian Wells Tennis Garden

And instead of making your entire trip about getting from your hotel to the tournament and back, Palm Desert gives you a chance to experience the rest of the desert, too.

That's what we love about this combination:

World-class tennis + your own tennis courts + sunshine + Palm Desert.

It's a pretty hard combination to beat for a tennis lover.

Make November Your Tennis Escape

The 2026 WTA Finals run November 8–15, 2026, and this is a particularly special year for Indian Wells.

The tournament is making its debut as the host of the WTA Finals, bringing the season-ending championship to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the first time.

So if you've always wanted to see the world's best women tennis players up close, this is a pretty special opportunity.

And if you're coming with your spouse, friends, tennis partner—or the whole family—you can turn it into so much more than a day at the tournament.

Watch the world's best.

Play a few sets yourself.

Relax by the pool.

Explore Palm Desert.

Enjoy the desert sunshine.

Then do it all again the next day.

Ready to make it a tennis getaway?

Come stay with us in Palm Desert and make the 2026 WTA Finals the centerpiece of your next desert escape.

Because watching great tennis is fun.

Playing a little yourself afterward makes the trip even better.
